Abstract

In the present work, the epoxy-based hybrid composites have developed by combining the Sansevieria cylindrica and Glass fibers into epoxy matrix. Tensile strength, compression strength, TGA and DSC properties of hybrid composites without alkali treatments have been studied. Variations of the mechanical and thermal properties have been studied with different combinations of Sansevieria cylindrica and glass fibers as reinforced into epoxy matrix. The aforementioned mechanical properties optimally improved by increasing the natural Sansevieria cylindrica fiber percentage. The observation established good miscibility of epoxy and homogenous dispersion of Sansevieria/Glass fibers in the epoxy matrix.

Abstract

In production systems there are situations in which it is not possible to have a single rate of production throughout the production period and the same cost for each individual unit over the decades. Items are produced at different rates and at different sub-periods so as to meet the requirement. The costs incurred changes as the time progresses due to inflation. The price may vary for each unit depending not only on inflation but also various factors as demand, availability, working unit, setup place etc. This paper models a situation by assuming constant rate of demand, varying rates of production and a constant inflation rate. Special cases are also discussed and a case study is done.

Abstract

The current work focuses on study of input parameters of induction hardening process of micro-alloyed steel roller shaft of an Undercarriage. Regression relation is generated for hardness using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) by using Design Expert Software as a tool for optimization. Further, the micro structure of selected shafts was analyzed.
